Camp Morning Star

Event Date: October 14, 2017

Camp Mourning Star is a Camp offered by Northland Hospice & Supportive Care, dba, Vista Hospice.  This Camp is offered to children 6-12 years of age who have experienced the death of a loved one.   Children and their families meet with a Bereavement Counselor before and after the Camp in order to address their individual needs.  During the Camp participants are invited to share and explore their grief and loss in a safe and supportive atmosphere with other children who are experiencing similar feelings and thoughts.  A variety of activities occur during the Camp such as crafting a memory box, movement games, exploring how to describe and express ones feelings, going on a nature walk and more.

This year Camp Mourning Star will be held at The Willow Bend Environmental Center on Saturday October 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is free to participants.

For more information and to register, please contact Peggy Sheldon-Scurlock, Bereavement Counselor at 928-779-1227.
